Showcase rosters, team assignments and schedule will be posted this weekend. For travel and planning purposes, registration will open at 8:00am Saturday and run through 9:00am. After opening remarks, showcase games are scheduled to tip off at 9:30am. After every team plays 3 games, all-star games in each division will start at 4:15pm and conclude by 6:00pm. We still need a few volunteer coaches. Coaches get in free ($10 value), receive a Buckeye Prep T-Shirt ($25 value) and have day-long access to the coaches lounge where lunch and snacks will be served throughout the day ($15 value). The COVID-19 Waiver must be downloaded (see below), signed and presented at the registration desk. Below are the complete showcase rules.
BUCKEYE PREP ELITE SHOWCASE RULES
Players and coaches should plan on arriving at TAD Sports Center between 8:00am and 9:00am on Saturday to register. After opening remarks, the showcase games will start promptly at 9:30am on Saturday. No player will receive a jersey without the proper paperwork and fees. Every team will play at least 3 games.
The pool games will consist of two 16-minute halves with a running clock. No timeouts are allowed in pool games. The first team listed on the schedule will be the home team and will wear the white jerseys.
A final all-star game will be played at the end of the day. The top players in each division will be selected to participate in an all-star game.
At the end of the day, awards will be presented to each all-star game participant. In addition, the top 5 players in each division will receive a “Top Five Award,” which is based on performance in the all-star game only.
The all-star games will consist of two 14-minute halves with a running clock.
Masks are are mandatory and must be worn over mouth and nose at all times.
Temperatures will be taken prior to admission and social distancing will be required.
We will be using regulation size basketballs for grades 7 and up and 28.5 for all other grade divisions.
Players are asked to wear solid black shorts.
A concession stand will be available.
Seating is very limited, so please bring your own portable chairs.
Spectators are welcome, but an entry fee ($10.00-adult, $5.00 student & kids under 5 free) will be charged at the door.
Neither profanity nor fighting will be tolerated from a player, coach or fan. If a player receives a technical foul for any reason, he may be asked to leave without a refund. If a parent or coach gets out of hand, he /she will be asked to leave the premises and will not be afforded a refund.
