Because he plays up in the class of 2032, and his team does not have a national profile, Caleb Towns (4’4″/PG/2033/Columbus, OH) has gone virtually unknown around the state and the country. Towns, a diminutive ball of energy, is a force for his 3rd ranked Columbus Monarchs Hoopsters team.
As quite as its kept, Towns is the heart and soul of a team that is competing at the highest level statewide. Defensively speaking, there is not a better defender in the state than Towns, and that includes the class of 2032.
The kid is super pesky, and excels at turning ball handlers over. Moreover, the kid is literally all over the court making plays, wreaking havoc and causing confusion. As good as he is defensively, he’s also hard to guard. He also handles the ball well; he’s tough, gritty and he attacks the basket with abandon. Not only should Towns be considered the best 2nd grader in Ohio, we think he is top 10 national good right now!
Yes he can score, but his calling card is his defense, and we doubt anybody can do it better in the country. If you were to turn Towns loose against 2nd graders, not only would it be unfair, he would dominate the game defensively. He may be unknown nationally for now, but trust us, that’s temporary!
